A American-Palestinian youth having endured nine months in Israel's custody absent formal charges was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested last February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital right after being freed, according to close relatives.

Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"At this moment, we are focused on providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention he requires after experiencing Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances over several months."

The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts to release him.

Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously said his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, learning information solely about his son's condition via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to mature inmates, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and murder.

"We demand US authorities to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
